Single ticket wins $70 million Oz Lotto jackpot

A single online ticket from Victoria has secured the entire $70 million Oz Lotto jackpot, placing the winner as the equal second-biggest individual prizeholder in the game’s 31-year history.
Lottery officials confirmed the result tonight, noting they have not yet managed to reach the winner, who may be unaware of their new fortune.
The winning numbers in draw 1633 were 44, 34, 45, 1, 46, 25 and 21, with supplementary numbers 9, 14 and 16.

“In addition to closing the financial year with $70 million, this mysterious player enters Victorian history with a prize only topped by the state’s two $80 million wins,” The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said.
“Imagine heading to bed without realising you’ve just won $70 million. That’s the situation for one Victorian player after hitting division one in tonight’s draw.”
Although the winning entry was bought online, officials lack complete contact details and have been unable to deliver the life-changing news.
“That’s why we urge everyone in Victoria to check their tickets – you could be the multimillionaire we’re searching for,” Hart added.

Millions of Australians took part in tonight’s draw, the fourth-largest in Oz Lotto’s 31-year history.
Hart confirmed tonight’s winner ranks as the second-biggest individual champion, since higher payouts have only gone to syndicates or multiple players.
Officials had expected one in five Australian adults to enter the draw.
Ahead of the jackpot, The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said the game was hopeful of securing its fourth division one win of the year.

The last $70 million Oz Lotto draw in April was shared by a 15-member Queensland syndicate, with each receiving over $4.7 million.
That draw saw a surge of late entries, with ticket sales peaking in the last 30 minutes before closing at 7.30pm.
Whether it was a solo entry or a syndicate claiming today’s prize, the overnight winners are set to finish the financial year on a remarkable high.
